Counselor

My name is Carrie Kennedy and I am very excited to be the new Counselor at Troup Middle School! I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from UT Tyler in 2006 and a Master of Arts in School Counseling in 2013. This is my 1st year in Troup ISD and 14th year in education! I am also the Section 504 Coordinator for the campus.

I am very excited to watch Troup Middle School students grow socially and emotionally.  Middle School age is a time of tremendous growth academically as well as emotionally.  As the school counselor I provide character education via one-on-one guidance, small social skills groups, and whole group guidance lessons to help build character education. I believe well developed, age appropriate pro-social skills are fundamental channels students use to help obtain maximum academic benefit. I look forward to working with your child this year and if I can help with anything pertaining to social and emotional learning, Section 504 or any questions you may have please let me know.

Troup Middle School's Guidance and Counseling Department is committed to providing a student-focused, data-driven, comprehensive school counseling program that will promote critical thinkers, lifelong learners and responsible and productive citizens who display good character in everything they do.
