Ms. Rhodes

Hello everyone! My name is Kaylen Rhodes and I am the Troup Middle School assistant band director. I am a trumpet player and a graduate from Springtown High School. I earned my Associate of Arts in Music from Tyler Junior College and my Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Texas at Tyler. I currently teach beginner trumpet, saxophone, tuba, and one of the middle school bands. This is my second year of teaching, and I am so excited!

 

While in college, I preformed with the Drum Corps International Sacramento Mandarins, TJC Apache Marching Band, wind ensemble, brass quintet, trumpet ensemble, and jazz band. I am currently performing with the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra as third trumpet. I am an alumni of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Service Fraternity, and a member of Texas Music Educators Association and International Trumpet Guild.

 

I am an avid Lord of the Rings fan and when not in the band hall, I can be found reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, or rock climbing. 

 

I am thrilled to be apart of the Troup ISD family. GO TIGERS!
